The SHISEIDO Cup of China ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating 2019 will be held at the Chongqing Huaxi Culture and Sports Center in Chongqing, China from November 8th to 10th.
There will be about 60 outstanding skaters from 9 countries expected to participate in the competition.
The Cup of China is one of the series of six senior-level, international figure skating competitions held as part of the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating.
The Cup of China ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating has been held since 2003, and marks its 17th year.
This year is also the first time that Cup of China has come to the Southwestern China.
Time: November 8-10, 2019;
Place: Huaxi Culture and Sports Center, Chongqing, China.
Two-time World medalist Boyang Jin, 2019 World bronze medalist Vincint Zhou, 2018-19 Grand Prix Final bronze medalist Jun-hwan Cha will lead the fight of quadruple jumps. The 2013 Cup of China gold medalist Han Yan will return after a year of adjustment. Besides, Matteo Rizzo from Italy, Keegan Messing from Canada, Keji Tanaka from Japan and Andrei Lazukin from Russia will also bring excellent performance.
The ladies event is fiercely competitive, including 2015 World champion Elizaveta Tuktamysheva, 2015 World silver medalist Satoko Miyahara, 2019 World silver medalist Elizabet Tursynbaeva, 2019 World Junior silver medalist Anna Shcherbakova, 2019 European Champion Sofia Samodurova. Marin Honda and Mai Mihara, who are well-beloved by Chinese fans, will join us again. Two young skaters, Hongyi Chen and Yi Zhu from China are also on the list.
Two-time World champions Wenjing Sui/ Cong Han, together with their teammates, 2018-19 Grand Prix Final silver medalists Cheng Peng/ Yang Jin will be waiting the challenge from world pair skaters at their home field. Nicole Della Monica/ Matteo Guarise from Italy will attend Cup of China for the fourth time. Tae-Ok Ryom / Ju-Sik Kim from North Korea who have grown fast in the past two years are also worth paying attention.
Leading by 2019 World silver medalists Victoria Sinitsina/ Nikita Katsalapov from Russia and two-time World medalists Madison Chock/ Evan Bates from USA , Kaitlin Hawayek/ Jean-Luc Baker from USA, Laurence Fournier Beaudry/ Nikolaj Sorensen from Canada are also highly expected. China send two excellent ice dance pairs to join the game——Shiyue Wang/ Xinyu Liu and Hong Chen/ Zhuoming Sun.
